Hi

Just a quick few problems that i wondered if you knowledgable chaps and girls new what to do??

Passenger door opens from the interior switch but won't open from the external button. Is there a connector in the wing mirror that may be rusty etc. If so, how do you get to the damn thing??

Drivers side window is very slow compared to the passenger side. Any ideas?? or solutions to see if i can speed it up. I assume door panel off and WD40 is the best trick???

A/C heater is intermittant , starts then stops for a while then comes back on!! any ideas??? could do with it working this time of year.

Do you thing any of these are payable under the standard WH Warranty thing?? - can't really remember the full package details think its the maximum claim £2k one if any one can help??

Cheers

Rob

Is it the hot air blower (illuminated red dial) or the air con button (blue light) that isn't working ?

It'll be either the connectors in the door that have rusted up, or the button in the wing mirror.

Door panel is easy enough to take off, 8 screws round the outside and it lifts straight out, then the connector will be buried somewhere in the door.

Wing mirror button is also easy once you know that the wing mirror glass just pulls out. It just clips in and may need a sharp tug to get it off Once you've got the glass off, the rest should be obvious.

With regards to the window speed I suggest trying some silicone spray (available from Halfords or any fabric store as curtain runner lubricator). Spray this down the runners as much as possible and hopefully things will free up.

WD40 in the gubbins may also be needed, but the above option is less hassle and might cure the problem anyway.

Its the hot air blower thats intermitant. A/C works ok but the blower is on and off - cold one is fine!!!

Neil/trefor

Will try the door off and glass and have a play.

Looks like both door panels off then!!

Cheers guys!!

I had similar fault with my heater controls - turned out to be the control box in the passenger footwell had shaken itself free from the sidewall and the ribbon cable connector was only just making contact. Plugged it back in and re-attached the box and all was well.

I was just about to post a topic about hot blower problems!!
I have been experiencing exactly the same problem over the last few days.
I think it could well be the control box in the passenger footwell (didn't even know it was there until reading this!). I had a new wireing harness fitted recently so there's a good probability it could have been disturbed.

Cheers guys!
