Blue cerb at mortimers
Discussion
Went to look at the imperial blue cerb at Mortimers today, very clean, very tidy, engine was very clean and tidy. The chassis was ok, showing signs of rust and in a few places the paint is flaking off it.
But all in all looking good and original,
Another fellow piston header got the phone call in first so he has first refusal, he turned up just as I left, I shall find out in the morning if he bought it or if it's mine !!!! It's like the night before Christmas !!!!

Dave - Sorry mate. I put a deposit on it tonight. I was there until nearly 7pm chatting to Paul. He came up with a sensible deal and I signed on the dotted. Like you. I have been waiting for the 'right' car to appear for quite a while. I too looked at the similar car at Fernies but the maths didn't add up on that car. Good Cerberas' are becoming difficult to find at sensible money.

It's got to be worth the trip to see it surely? A rare car in a good colour and in vgc is a tall order at best. The distance and price have to give at some point. FWIW mine is far from perfect (but nice enough) and it was some 300 miles away from me. I know that's to be expected living in Scotland but sometimes I get the feeling that those living nearer the English home counties expect things practically on their doorstep.TimJM said:

I like your thinking !
Hi Dave, Cerbera owner in Cheshire! I’ve only owned had mine since Oct (2000 S6), so by no means claim to be an expert, but I’m a mechanical engineer by trade and serial restorer, so happy to give an opinion if it fairly local.
Feel free to drop me a PM.
Just my curiosity getting the better of me but why did Mortimers use the same picture of the Cerbera that Fernhurst were using, the taken outside what appears to be a church? Is it in fact the same car and the traders are just moving stock about?
Don't suppose it matters one jot, as I said, just curious.

I'm not sure actually, it's the classic place where Fernhurst take all their pictures. I did mean to ask them when I went to view it but I forgot all about it when viewing. Strange though.Don't suppose it matters one jot, as I said, just curious.

Today I missed out on the black 4.5 which was also originally sold by Fernhurst.
Now thanks to Julian on to viewing my favourite looking one , blue S6 in chesire.
