If you still have drive to the oil and water pump it's not necessary to take the engine out to replace the woodruff key for the power steering pump. The pump can come off with the engine in situ - mine failed on my old cerb 4.2 and was replaced this way by Torque Rvt

There is a couple of posts on here covering the conversion. I'll check, Saxo ring a bell but not sure.

Sounds like a simple conversion, if you like running cables.

I've got the electric power steering on mine - it suffered the same problem with the last owner.

I did whine about it, but my issues turned out to be a failing relay which cost a fiver.

If I can help, just shout. It's the Saxo combi electric pump and reservoir I have.

I've had the Citroen(?) electric PAS on mine, but am changing it to a T-Car unit instead. If you want my old one, works perfectly, drop me a PM.

This is what I have. That assembly is what the Sagaris uses. I *think* it's a Citreon Saxo pump - unless someone can correct me?

From the pic above I have no idea now...was told by previous owner it had the Saxo conversion but it certainly doesnt looks like the one in the pic above

I think mine is a peugot 106 pump. i took a pic before I took it out to change the hoses and clean it up in there. Its got the little reservoir mounted on a threaded rod off the chasis

Iirc two variants of the same pump, one with an integrated reservoir and one with an external reservoir.

This is how I understood it. I have the non- integral reservoir as I plumbed it into the the original PAS tank.

Which is the best way of wiring electric pump I was thinking of running a relay for alternator so when the alternator starts up the pump starts up is this a good idea or not

As long as you have an in line fuse you can choose from battery, alternator, starter terminal or big fuse terminal.

What rating is the pump? 30 amp?

You'll need a big feed, I run a 40amp fuse on mine. Mine is switched from the wiper live.

Comes on with ignition. Handy for pushing the car around. lol
