These kits (a set of 4 hoses) are sold by the well known part dealers. It seems that all 4 brake hoses have the same length. The length is ok for the rear brakes but to long for the front. On mine the hose is nearly touching the track rod when the car is stationary, but certainly on bumpier roads. It seems the original part (not stainless steel, just rubber) is a shorter and has the correct length.
The question is, has anyone bought such a kit and was the length correct ?

Cheers, Peter

I have the goodridge ones. My fronts are cable tied as per the originals to the hubs which stops this.

The same ones were on my car when I got it in '06 and are fixed the same way and are still fine

I had to route the hoses first down from the caliper then up to the upright cable tie mounting point to stop them rubbing the wheels on full lock.

I fitted a hel stainless brake pipe kit using the existing securing tie points on the arms and have had no problems with rubbing etc.

Thanks for all the replies. I followed viku's hint to route them down from cable tie and then up to the caliper connetion.

@pmessling: Your hose looks about as long as mine. One problem is, when the steering is at full lock to right, the hose touches the sharp edge of the upright/hub-carrier. The original ones are a lot shorter and have good protection around them, see:
