Switch under dash near right knee ??????
Discussion
I have a rotary switch or a potentiometer under the dash near my right knee. On the panel that covers the underside of the steering column.
It has no knob on it so not sure what it is or what it does.
Looked in the handbook and it's not shown as a control in the section that shows the various dashboard controls.
Anyone able to enlighten me please ?
Ta muchly

I'm well aware it's not a "true lightweight" but it is deffo a 4.7 and I have seen your sterling contributions on here before and they are appreciated!
i have it down as 1402 silver stardust 4.5 thats it,on line 08/09/2000. Not Light Weight.

I've just sold B12A6YB001402, which was sold to me as a 4.5LW - i presume it's not really a true LW as it weighed in at 1185kg with about 20L of fuel in it.
Just teasing as your last couple of posts were a bit fruity!
To be fair would be helpful if you visited more often.

Fair enough - inaccurate post deleted. Mine was very sensitive and iced the evaporator up when over adjusted, but who am I to argue based on mere personal experience.

That is the set point control for the air conditioning. Be cautious fiddling with it, it is very sensitive and if you turn it too much you will cause the evaporator in the drivers side wing cavity to ice up, which will mean your air con will only work for a few minutes, then take hours to thaw out.

Our 98 (made in late 97) 4.5 "GT" had A/C fitted. I was sure the sales brochure at the time said it was standard on all 4.5s & an option in 4.2s? I think it says that in the manual that came with the car too.
Ours had a new front end very early in its life that didn’t show up in any HPI checks when we got it at just over two years old. The AC didn’t work so we took it to a very well respected indy, he found the pipes had been crushed & had to replace a lot of the system. He told me not to fiddle with it as it was set & over adjusting would cause it to ice up. He didn’t go into detail of the setting up though...
