Rear Oil Gallery Bung
Discussion
I require a little bit of insight from those who know the ins and outs of the block.
I need to rectify the threads for the oil pressure switch in the block, due to the wrong sensor being fitted at some time in the cars life.
I am concerned about dropping swarf down the hole. I was planning on using grease to catch the bits and a hoover up after.
Question.
If i remove the rear oil gallery bung, is the hole for the switch behind it? will i have good access to remove swarf?

If you remove the rear bug then you can get very near to the oil pressure switch hole. I presume u have the engine out or gearbox/ flywheel off as you can only get to the bung with this done. One word of warning is that oil gallery is the main feed directly to the crank bearings so the smallest piece off swarf could cause havoc.
