I've still got this problem, where every now & then the car takes up to three minutes of me holding the black button, waiting for it to turn over.

I've had an emergency button fitted directly to the starter motor & that starts first time off that, so it's not the starter.

Sometimes, if I operate other electrical devices, it fires up.

This morning for instance, I'm sitting there with a gormless expression & my finger on the button, I decided to press the horn button & the rev counter went up to 4000 revs !

Pressed the horn again & the car started (whilst pressing the black button)

I've noticed on a cold morning my rev counter does'nt register 1000 revs, it just sits at zero, until I rev it some more.

Also, the boot switch needs as bit of a wiggle, to turn the boot light on (It was covered in water & I could hear it arcing recently)

Could all this be connected, somebody mentioned a control box under the steering wheel, any ideas ?

I'm thinking of changing that big fuse, to see if that helps.

Yours, mystic Russ.

My mind says "Earthing problem"..dunno why...maybe cos all the elecrtical problems seem to be commonly connected via 'earths'.
Steering control box, i think is velcro'd under the dash, and you have to lay upside down with your head at the pedals and with a torch you should see it, but some of what you describe, doesnt have anything to do with this box im sure.

The box of tricks which controls the starter is in the boot too (as is the relay which actives it).

Mine died a death (it would start the motor but not stop once the engine fired).
