So, having removed engine and transmision, I though I'd removed all the bolts ready for body removal - but the body/chassis still seem to be staying together! Obviously I don't want to force it, but the bolts I have removed are as follows:
4 x in the boot
2 x by where the rad sits in the engine bay
8 x long nuts/bolts that have the vertical tubes integral to outriggers
4 x front footwell (driver/passenger)
8 x (I think) short nuts/bolts in floorpan of body (triangular fillets at chassis tube corners)
2 x cap head bolts under front dash/trans tunnel
4 x trans tunnel seat belt mounts (2 x front and 2 x rear)
2 x driver/passenger outer lower seabelt mounts
I can't see any other anchorage point that I've missed - looking at where others have cut the glassfibre in the outer sills, looks to me like where either the lower seatbelt anchor point was (the chrome slider bar) or where the integral rollbar meets the outriggers front or back. I've extensively looked at loads of threads and pictures - I haven't cut out any of the sill.
Have I missed any, or are they just stubborn to seperate initially?
Thanks,
Steve.

I have repressed that process so well that I can't remember specific bolts, but, the chassis is wider than the tub around the engine bay, so you have to prize it off and up. Hopefully Tanguero will be along shortly to advise, but in the meantime have you identified whether it's the front or rear that's causing the problem?

Hi Ukkidd,
Yes, have seen the vid before, Like it very much - although there is not enough tea drinking or butt-scratcing in my opinion!
Body/Chassis seems stubborn all over, regardless of weather I try a cheeky little push with a trolley jack either side, or front or back.
Thanks for the feedback!

Hi recently completed this job myself.
Mine was really tight and needed some fibreglass cutting out around the seat belt brackets in both sills to allow them to pull through.
Looking at your list of nuts n bolts have you got the ones behind the helmet holder which secure the rear seat belt retractors to the chassis.

Yes, you seem to be missing the bolts behind the rear seat, and you will need to cut the fibreglass in the sills to clear the seatbelt anchors. It can require some fairly firm leverage to separate the body and chassis, an alarming amount!
You didn't mention the bolts through the drivers seat rails that go through the center outrigger support, but I presume you have the seats out. Other than that - is sounds like you have the rest of them out. The pain of doing mine and djstevec's is fading but I think the body section in the workshop manual has a diagram that shows what needs to be removed that is a useful check list.
Good luck!

Thank you chaps for all your responses. Yes, all seats are out. Rear belt mounts behind helmet holder haven't been removed, I clearly missed them! (Incidentally, why do they call it a helmet holder? Neither my bike (HJC), or car (bell) fit in it!)
There seems to be fairly good clearance around the seatbelt mounting points on either sill, I guess I'll find out if it is enough when I go to lift the tub.
Hopefully I'll get physical with it this weekend

I was similarly disappointed, until I realised that I could fit a 55 Open Face in the holder, which is my size fortunately. It now lives there permanently, or at least until I reach a track.Gassing Station | Cerbera | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
