Oil leak from diff

My '98 4.2 has left a small oil stain on garage floor, directly under the diff
Hasn't happened before, so a new problem
Just wondering if it is a quick fix/indy job to get sorted, and is there any way of checking the oil level.

Don't want it to seize up, on the way to getting it repaired

Any guidance gratefully received

If you need a diff, I got one spare and its in immaculate condition...

Loosing a small amount of oil isn't a major problem. There are a lot of cars out there doing the same. Just check the level once in a while.
Repair generally means taking the diff out for the oil seal(s) doing.
