water temp /oil pressure guage
Discussion
Mine's bust courtesy of some clumsy DIY on my part, and I'm just not brave enough to remove it myself!
My indie's premises are not huge, so I am trying not to leave it on his forecourt for three months while (not) Speedy Cables fix it.
If I had another I could sort that and then just do a swap...

Assuming your oil pressure is ok (have it tested) you should be fine. In any case you still have the warning light. Most cars only have a warning light. But it would be worth checking that it works
. It is a pain to get at, which is why I suggested the garage do it. Then you can send the gauge away and get it fitted (APM?) when it comes back. You should be able to drive it in the interim provided you keep an eye out for the warning light .
notice how I resisted the temptation to call it an idiot light

If you are very worried about capping off the oil pressure hose (which is very easy to do under the bonnet next to the clutch fluid cover) why not attach a test gauge (from ebay very cheap) to the oil pressure line and cable tie it into place so you can just about see it from inside the car. Yes it is a bit DIY but it will work just fine until yours is fixed.
