I casually looked at this last year but found that the price difference was only about 30% and decided that it wasn't worth it for that amount of saving.
Really? I thought a colour change would be iro £6k.I also dislike the colour of my car, but can't justify the cost of a paint job.
I looked at wraps before going for the full respray. From the places I called and people I spoke to, to get it done right (not a barry boy bodyshop) it needs a similar level of prep to a respray, chip repairs, imperfections and cracks corrected etc as they will still show up through the wrap and this is obviously different for each car. Was given unseen estimates from a base £4k upwards and with the very poor condition of the bodywork on mine it needed A LOT of prep and repair for either option, so I didn't feel it would be worth the cost for a temporary wrap. I'm estimating my colour change (which also included a headlight conversion and other cosmetic work) is going to end up at about £7-7.5k, so I'd say deduct about £1,000 for the extra work I had done.
IMHO it's only worth a wrap if going for a colour scheme that would be very difficult to achieve in paint or you have some graphics in mind.

I considered it because I wanted a black or orange car, but bought Silver. I went through the process of investigation and could get it done around 3k but would need prep work, which although I could do myself wasn't a big enough cost saving/value add to have it done.
I'm going with a front end respray as I cant afford full spray this year, so will probably have a Silver car forever
