Hi all, could somebody suggest somewhere in the Basildon/Essex area to get a replacement battery for my Cerbera (supply only). I've read the battery thread so aware of the size matching issues so just want to avoid any problems. Thanks in advance....

I just bought an off the shelf battery from Europarts and dropped it in. Just make sure you get teh terminals the same way round the same dimesnions and you are away. Nothing special about it really?

ECP Click and Collect using one of their discount codes I'd imagine!

I managed to get a better deal going into an ECP store than their website. Managed to get a big exide battery that did the job with the correct terminal orientation.

Thanks all. I got a battery from ECP Rayleigh today and it fitted perfectly £78.00 incl VAT for an Exide battery for reference. The car has been sitting on SORN for approx 14 to 16 months so I turned the engine over by hand a few times, pulled the plug leads off, cranked the engine until the oil was pumped around the engine during cranking. Put the leads back on and it fired into life just fine. My fingers were crossed as I was hoping there was no immobiliser issues...now I need to start the rest of the jobs that I've left over the years.....

Interesting and alittle different to my setup, standard unipart battery fitment for land rover defender - it is a tight fit.
The engine bay doesnt quite look so dirty most of that is my camera phone, though the last time I drove it was raining

Damn just realised I just had a geeky moment tongue out

Looking at my cables I reckon the battery would go either way.

For your set up I would agree, however for mine the positive cables wouldn't reach and the negatives are too long and would look untidy. Your set up is better as you can disconnect/connect the negative first which is the correct steps to disconnect/connect a battery)
