I was thinking about this on the way to work this morning, it seems that many of teh offical veterans trips will not be run going forward due to dwindling numbers but all the vets interviewed said they would be attending anyway.
Seems an ideal opportunity to offer to take any vets, that can't make it under there own steam, over to Arromanches in a piece of british machinery that would never have existed if it wasn't for their sacrifice.
Don't know if it would come off or who to contact to see but I thought I woudl try the British Legion as a first port of call. I also don't know if many would be capable of spending a few hours in a TVR what with mobility issues and things but just a thought.

Echo that and was asking my mum what she was doing 70yrs ago today the answer was working in the local butchers shop in Hull and driving a 3 ton van around doing deliveries with a provisional licence unaccompanied she was just 16!
