I have seen a few vids on YouTube where the Cerb beeps to alert the driver to change gear. I have never heard this in my car so either I'm not driving it fast enough or it is broken.

When should it beep?

Is it a gear change beeper? I thought it was a "Sh!t you've hit the rev-limiter, your pistons are going to land in your lap" beep?

There is a pico fuse on the board that can blow. Does yours buzzer sound when you press the start button the first time?

And unless that one sounds like the missus screaming something about a mid-life crisis, I'm pretty sure i haven't got that one either!
Was this feature on all model's, and what board is the pico fuse on and where is the board located?
And last question, is this buzzer/beeper/bongy thing loud enough to drown out what i have allready???

Cheers, Simon.

My buzzer only works at the rev limit an no other time, its not that loud compared to the engine at 7k.

If the pico fuse has gone then most of the instrument panel warning lights wont work,

The early cars don't have beepers ..
customers complained that they couldn't see the indicator lights on the dash in bright light so tvr fitted a beeper in addition. The early cars don't have it though.

Incidently, the shift light and beeper points are mappable in the ecu.. so you can have different shift light/beep points depending what engine load you're at. It's a bit of a useless feature, but it's possible to have say a beep at 2000rpm at light loads and at say 7000rpm at full throttle, and any permutation in between.

My buzzer works at startup and the indicators beep too. I've never heard the change-up buzzer though. I've even driven along in a low gear slowly increasing from 7000rpm to circa 7500rpm listening for it and still haven't heard anything.

That was the same when I had mine and I agree it is a very discreet beep as the engine is loud at full chat so you do sometimes struggle to hear it.

Take the insrument cowl off and peer down the back of the PCB, it is a small soldered in surface mount block. If you look from out side through the windscreen at the PCB the it is near the top just right of centre if I remember correctly.

Most fix this by soldering a piece of wire across it.
