Just a note to introduce myself (since my wanted post got removed for a breach of rules. . .) I'm not yet the custodian of a Cerbera but I'm working on that. Whilst I'm looking I wondered if there are any other North East based owners (I think I've spotted a couple on here but never seen a Cerbera locally other than in HHC!) I'm wanting to have a chat/look/sniff of a few Cerbera's so I have something to compare when I search. I'm viewing a couple of cars in the next couple of weeks (looked at a nice Sp6 last night) but would appreciate a quick look over a couple of cars and having a chat?

Pm's if anyone is willing to oblige.

Cheers,
mac

Hi Mac, I'm northeast based. Live in Stanley, work next to the airport. Mines only just been put back on the road today after 3 years. Passed MOT but blew a power steering hose. If I get it back together over the next few days we can sort something out?

That would be good Pete. I live near Rothbury but I'm currently working for a client in Darlington so I pass both places daily. I'll send you a pm.

Anyone else local?

Sounds like you are busy so I'll let you get on. I might still be looking in 3 weeks! Thanks for the reply though!

I travelled 5 hours south to take mine away from the "north east" (snigger, snigger - you're all southern shandy drinkers to me). It had been spotted around the area a few times in PH history before my ownership. It lived there for 5 years IIRC. He knew of others in the area so there are a few around.

Thanks for the reply Jamie.

It is the North East (of England), you must 'stay' in the Midlands or out West (of another country. . .) if you are 5 hours North of here. I lived (or is it survived?) in Thurso for a year or so, so I know all about you Southerners wink

I'm in Cleadon and I've got nothing better to do than mess around in cars and having fun.

I'm free today if you want to have a ride out.

Mine is black, but I'm not selling it hehe

Right idea, wrong way round :P

I'm about 30 miles north of Aberdeen. Cerberas are thin on the ground up this way. I was glad to 'only' have to travel to Newcastle for the one I wanted.

It looks as though there are a few not too far from you though. Having like minded owners nearby makes the occassional low points of ownership that much less 'low'. biggrin

My first Cerbera came from a chap in Edinburgh. The drive back to the North East was fantastic, but I was crapping myself. Going through the McDonalds drive thru, hearing the fans cutting in/out. The loud peddle was like the first time exposed to a drug. Awesome!

That wouldn't be the McDonalds at Berwick just off the A1 would it? If so, that's where I lost my clutch hydraulics driving mine home laugh

I made it as far as South Queensferry stuck in 5th gear before I strategically 'broke down' at the BP filling station just before the Forth Road Bridge and got recovered for the rest of the trip home. Good memories laugh

That's the one hehe

I figured something must be wrong for it to "overheat" like that, so was switching the engine off each time I stopped. Didn't realise that was even worse for it until the battery voltage got a bit low, so I grew a pair and left it running.

Happy memories.

Ah, Peterhead way. Been up there many times with work. Fond memories of parking on Peterhead sea front to come back to a pile of seagull crap where I'd left a car. biggrin

My office location in Aberdeen is like that too frown

I'm about latitudes with Peterhead but a bit inland near New Deer, on top of a hill. Good thing too given the amount of water that has fallen out of the sky the past couple of weeks!

All the best for now anyway biggrin
