Not the stealing car type but the lifting up of the car. I'm sure everyone has jacked there cars up in the official places but how many times have you heard the creaking of fibre glass. Not a nice sound. I've always been a bit cautious of jacking the car up high for access underneath with the best way found to be two jacks one on each side. But still have to be careful.

So with a bit if time on my hands today I've gotten on with finishing my jacking beam. Can't test it for fit but it's adjustable in height to clear the exhaust. Need to make a central boss for it to fit my jack. Designed to fit the main chassis rails.

Tested to four tonnes so should be able to handle the cerbera with ease

Stability, and ground clearance for getting it under the car are the first thoughts I have?

I have a low entry very stable jack. With the front wheels still on the ground the car should remain stable to be able to use the beam. Well that's the plan.

If the tops pivot slightly the whole area would stay in contact with the chassis as you jack, just a thought not a criticism ,nice work.

Hi Peter

I remember you mentioned that you were going to make this a while ago.

It looks great.. Really great..

I love working on my car but getting it up in the air properly is such a daunting affair for me.

Are you going to do a group buy?

I would certainly be interested.

Cheers!

No it's too wide at 580mm the one I've made between the centre of the saddles is 450mm

See how this one works out before considering making more.

Looks good and sturdy, but I don't get how you'll use it. I'm sure it's me being dim on a monday morning wink

I have to drive my cerbera onto small ramps (2" tall) so that I can slide a low profile jack under the front of the car, let alone a jack + a beam such as yours.

It's for the two rear chassis rails. It will require being placed in first then the jack but would prefer doing this and feeling it's safe compared to the other methods.
