Random electrical problems

Since it got a bit chilly, the indicators have stopped working - until the cars properly warmed up!! Is this usual? Hazards are working fine.

Also, the main beam and windscreen wiper buttons have all stopped working but the horn still works - is this a common occurrence or should they all work/not work?

Wait until the headlight button works the horn and the wiper button turns them on but wont stop them (very annoying in the dry). I find that they correct about a week after this happens.

Alternatively book the car in to a specialist to be looked at. The problem wil persist for the two weeks until you get seen. It will then fix itself on the specialists forecourt upon arrival.

Mine's been doing this on and off since the day I got it. I think the problem is down to a 10 way cable that they curl up in side the steering wheel. After a while the cable wears out with the turning of the wheel. I've been quoted around £27.00 for the cable plus fitting I think that was around an hour. Yesterday after a couple of spots of rain the wipers would not turn off even after turning the hazards on then pressing the button which has always worked in the past; I had to pull off stop the engine and the start off again.

In the cold wet month of winter, your baby should be in her garage, locked away, kept warm, and started up and given a few now and again... trickle charged and polished... till february... its a control thing!
Meanwhile, my car is in a garage, polished, battery is trickle charged - but minus engine

what month from October thru April would that be then it's great to have such choice of cr@p months.
I get home on Christmas Eve and have to make a choice of spend Christmas day with better half or take the car/bike for a spin (to charge up the batteries of course)

I would say the steering wheel buttons issues are due to the control ribbin cable that is coiled up behind the wheel. They are easy tp replace and cost about £30.

As for you indicators........ I think these are controlled from the same control box, so maybe its related. Its the steering wheel control box that sits behind the shroud just abouve your knees. Try unplugging and reconnecting it again.

Theres more chance of some idiot sliding into you on wet/icy roads, and more chance of chassis corrosion and more chance of eletrical faults popping up on wet/freezing days - screw the hassle and take the daily runner out, enjoy the cerb, dont murder her!!!!
