Indicators & Dashboard

Chaps, my Cerbie is an early one, and lacking an adjustable steering column. I'm 6'2", but most of that is in my torso (only 31" leg).

So unless I get my legs lengthened, from where I sit, I can't see the top of the dashboard - the steering wheel rim is obscuring the indicator lights and worse, the top arc of the speedo.

Thus in keeping with Cerb indicator tradition, I keep finding I've left one side flashing for goodness only knows how long. Also I'm paranoid when going through cameras, as I can't seem anything above 40mph - so I'm forever ducking to peek under the rim of the wheel.

Is it an easy job to retrofit a bleeper of some kind that will "tick" with the indicators? What about fitting an adjustable column (gulp!) I suppose the other option would be to mount a Stack instrument block of some sort either at the base of the windscreen, or on the shelf in the top centre of the console itself?

Thanks for all your help as ever. I'm sorry if this is yet another anti-TVR deprecating post. Just hoping for some advice on keeping my pride and joy running.

i thought all Cerbera's had adjustable steering colums? The indicator buzzer will probably just be turned off you have to remove the dash top butterfly nuts under the dast and just behind on a circuit board you will a small adjustable potentiometer adjust it slowly with the indictors going and there you go.

I have a very early Cerb and that is full adjustable. Are you sure you've looked hard enough for the lever

Agreed, adjust the little pot until you can hear the beep.
My car is early and it adjusts up and down. Can't see the MIL light though when I'm driving.

ive just dug up this topic from last year while searching for how to adjust the indicator chirps, ive taken a few pics of my dash as i cant find anything to adjust on mine??? I may have to put my own bleeper on as i quite often leave my indicators on!lol!
heres my pics, not sure if theyre any good, but maybe someone can tell me if i can or not adjust mine? atm there is NO sounds at all, and i cant see any speaker either??? mines a very early cerb, maybe they didnt have them? Found the steering column adjuster tho!lol!

Blast from the past, I've even changed name since this one.

Anyways, looking down from the top between speedo and tacho. Near the top edge of the dash plastic there is a little white potentiometer with a notch that looks like it may just fit a screwdriver. Turn anti-cw iirc to increase the volume.

If I'm looking right I think on your third picture, the little white thing between the black wire is probably it. It's along that top edge anyway.

ive double checked today and dont actually think that mine has a buzzer!

Try and take a pic as if you are looking down at the dash so we can see the top row of electrickery

I'm pretty sure that its a legal requirement at the manufacturing stage to have an audible warning for it but then it's not the first time I've been wrong.

That's not a potentiometer. However looking at the pcb, you can see the letters "UZZER", I'm guessing the hidden letter behind that wire is "B" . There are four solder points there of which one has that black wire attached, I'm guessing the buzzer should be sat on the other terminals.

I'm sure that's the thing I turn to change the volume. Did it again just before I sold the car.

yep your right russell! im thinking that there is meant to be a buzzer soldered into that circuit, but there isnt. Ill get the multi meter on the terminals tonight to see if there is an out put on them with the ind on.

well no voltage emitting from points during indicator operation. Does anyone else have a pic of their dash circuit board they could show me so i can see if there is a difference. Im possitive mine doesnt have a bleeper.
