Anyone fancy a swap far a Tuscan?
Discussion
At the risk of being stoned into the next century, just hear me out. Hopefully I'm not contravening any PH rules by doing this.
I'm on a precipice of my TVR ownership.
I've had my Tuscan almost 3 years now and in that time I've spent a small fortune (haven't we all?)
Many of you may have seen the car as its the Rally for Heroes Tuscan which has been sauntering around the country with the union flag adorned on the rear.
It's a 2001 Mk1 on 68k miles. Since I've had it, its had the TVR Power 4.3ltr upgrade, new clutch, Nitrons refurbed and new springs, Brummies upgraded 330mm disks with CL pads, interior re-trimmed, Xenon upgrade, CF splitter, seatbacks and Airbox, ACT end cans and bonnet conversion.
My problem is, I need an extra two seats! Yes I know the rear seats in the Cerb are almost non existant, but if it would let me take the wife and 3&4 year old to an event and back, that's good enough for me. I'm not talking full on road trips here, just 30 mins to an hour down the road.
Now I haven't put too much thought into this yet and its still early days, but the Cerbera is the only way I could stay with TVR, otherwise it looks like its going and moving accross to something like a Mustang
My only stipulation would be that it must be a V8 and preferrably a 4.5. If I was to sell the Tuscan I'd be after £20k, so that's the benchmark level of Cerb I'd be after.
Anyway, thanks for reading and please feel free to go and wash your eyes out now Ive made you read about a Tuscan. But, if anyone is interested in roof off motoring in a superb Tuscan, please drop me a line.
Cheers Benn.

Yes thanks, it has indeed had a lot of love and time given to it.
The more I think about it, the more I feel that perhaps its time to step down from my TVR days and look to something a tad more...practical!
This idea of getting a Cerb may just be my unwillingness to accept the truth and go down another path.
Guess time will tell.

A Cerbera is a perfectly practical family car.
It even took my family of four, plus full luggage from the North East to Glasgow airport for our holiday flight. Needed a new battery for the return trip three weeks later but I blame the car park for that, otherwise, performed brilliantly (if a little crammed).
You have no excuse.

I've used mine for all sorts of breaks away when the kids were smaller. The boot is cavernous, even for my wifes clothing needs for a week away. Depends on the size of your kids but it gets difficult from when they reach 9-10It even took my family of four, plus full luggage from the North East to Glasgow airport for our holiday flight. Stick with TVR, you'll regret it as soon as you see another one go past you on the road! The Cerbera is remarkably practical, huge boot and you can'get' 4 adults in it even. See my earlier post

Or just buy another car to supplement the Tivver...
Good luck

DO
NOT
LEAVE
TVR.......
I have just done the swap from a Tuscan to a V8 Cerb. Fancied a change and liked the idea of a more 'practical' car.
Done nothing practical in it at all ! But the Cerb is a beast, and it is always nice to try new things.
That Tuscan of yours is a sweet car with some very tasty upgrades....good luck with the hunt!

I thought I would just end this thread nicely with the conclusion of my conversation with Lars.
After what seemed like weeks of to'ing and fro'ing, all from my side I must admit as I had to remove a vinyl wrap from my Tuscan which ended up damaging the paint requiring a front end and rear end respray, to engine issues which were eventually sorted.
Lars was an absolute gent and stood by his word throughout, even having been offered a much easier option of selling his car within Denmark.
We met up on Thursday in Germany, had quick drives of each others cars, had a chat over a coffee, then signed our cars over to each other and went our separate ways.
To Lars credit, his Cerbera was immaculate and it runs like a dream. I hope he manages to get the Tuscan upto the same level without too many hours in his man cave.
Thanks again Lars.

Time for a quick photo before departing.
So I guess I better go move all my stuff out of the Tuscan house and find myself a place over here!
