Which is standard?

Blended in headlights surround (ie no line / seal round headlights) like this one

or with a line round headlights like this one?

What could be the reason for the difference?

Both.
Cerbs started off with the single headlight. Then the "S6 style" came out... pods, but not blended in. Later on these started getting blended in as standard.
As an side, if you get an "old skool" Cerb (with the single headlights), and have the upgrade done, you'll have the option of either. The "blended" ones being literally that - the pods, but with the fibreglass blended so that you can't tell.

the factory never 'blended in' the lights. The after-market conversions 'blend in' a new light pod to a hole in the wing. The factory actually changed the moulds - so the factory 'blended' cars aren't 'blended' - it's a new moulding with the smaller lights in the wing.

I was lucky enough to get a look around the factory just as the new moulds were going in to service. IIRC is was December 2002, so the cars off the new moulds would be hitting showrooms early 2003 I guess.
