Sports Exhaust and Decat dB Levels

Just about to have the decat pipes fitted so I was wondering what sort of level of noise I should expect.

More importantly can I get silencers to bring it down from that to reasonable levels fro track days?

De-catted expect up to 110db with a "sports" silencer, 105db with a standard back box.

5 inch Supertrapps took up to 8-9 db off my 4.5. I mostly ran with double the number of inserts to reduce risk of any consequences from increased back pressure.

When I had mine decatted it didn't make much difference to the volume of sound (except added over-run popping), though the character did change.

I still have the standard exhaust however...

Had mine measured at Pistonfest on full revs @ 134Db and then officially at Goodwood on 4200 revs @ 118Db

Its de-catted and sports box!

Apparently too loud for trackdays don't know what the fuss is!

Mine was 128.9 db measured at Donnington Park. It had a decat and sports exhaust which in turn had no silencing on it.

Sounded lovely if a little irresponsible....

Its the over run on the 'down-side' of the bridge that causes the flames!..

On overrun after a hard revving I presume? (not that I want tips for when mine is done, oh no!)

Just make sure Podie doesn't rear-end you

I find keeping the revs steady at just above 3k for 3 - 5 seconds then letting off does the trick

Geeze, you guys have quiet cars...

Hit 143 when the Tusc (de-cat & CCC cans) was measured (managed to detonate about half a litre of fuel on the overrun just as they were taking the reading )

Isn't 140 in the region of a jet at take-off (or the Who?).
