Came out to the Cerbera 4.5 this morning and the fuel pump was running with ot all locked up and turned off. Turned the ignition on then off and it stopped. Then went for a drive, when I got back and turned it off the pump was still running.
I removed the relay which was making a horrible noise and it stopped. Replaced relay with another that looks similar, and initially the pump doesn't start running with the ignition off. Turn on ignition and pump runs and so does the cooling fan although the car is stone cold, turn off ignition and pump continues to run as does the cooling fan.
Any ideas, is the relay a special one? The original was a Siemens one with 5 pins, I replaced it with a Lucas one with the same number of pins.

um curious,ive had a battery drain flatening the battery over nite,didnt have time to check so replaced the batt,same thing, so i put a amp meeter on and pulled fuses,found 5 amp drain on no 19 fuse,(lamber heater& fuel pump) but pump dosnt runn all the time and the fault cleers when the lander sensors are dis connected,,The fuel relay is a double pole one (BROWN NO4)MUST BE REPLACED WITH THE SAME.
