I have now fitted the helix clutch with a new master and refurbed raceproved slave.

Whilst I have yet to drive the car I have sat in the car and pressed the clutch pedal and to me (maybe because I haven't driven the car since sept and used to my MINI's) it seems really heavy.

The only thing I can think of is because the clutch is new the fingers will be at there stiffest.

Any ideas to ease my mind?

I guess until I actuall drive it. Some more bits to put back on then il find out for sure. I just don't want to have to remove the gearbox again.

Mine is now exactly the same, new master and raceproved slave as well as the Helix clutch. Had trouble bleeding it at first so let it sulk for three weeks in which time it all settled down. The clutch seemed to be dragging ever so slightly and like you I almost stripped it down again, must have been some air in it somewhere. Drove it on the road last time home and I would agree with your comment - it is slightly heavier than the AP but the take up of drive is now so smooth and progressive. So far happy with my decision as the TVR clutch is still not as heavy as our Audi A6.

That certainly gives me more confidence.

I've set the master as per the original length so hoping no adjustments will be needed but if I have to then it has to be done. Just annoying as I have to remove the seat to get access.

I wouldn't worry about the weight Peter. I have 6 cars, of which 3 are manuals. The Cerb is the heaviest in all controls but it's very quickly adapted to. If I do some car shuffling for whatever reason and go from X-Type to Cerb the clutch feels really heavy. If I do it in reverse I almost dent the X-Type's floor.

I reckon it's just the Mini effect. 5 miles in the Cerb and you'll be feeling back to normal again.
