Hi and a happy Easter to all grinners out there.

Just thought I would share a moment for all those who are looking, but still doubt the reliability of the TVR. I took my Cerb for its annual MOT on Thursday, along with my wife's Audi (which failed) wish bone and ball joint. Mine was next and I asked the owner if I could stay with the car as it is quite complicated and the mechanic would probably need some guidance etc. " sorry not allowed HSE and all that" OK no problem so I waited patiently in the appointed area . It wasn't long before the questions started to fly back to the office - how do I get in, can't start it, how do I open the bonnet? where's the key? This quickly resulted in me being despatched to the workshop and It wasn't long before I was getting a good look under and around my car! So back to doubters - the test engineer who had a certain amount of egg on his face (but nice old boy) went to work and checked everything with a fine tooth comb - and I mean everything! Anyway the end result being a100% pass, with no recommendations, and Stan remarking "lovely motor that". Since the last MOT I had driven 2000 miles, spent £20 on polishing equipment, £20 on upgrading my inner and outer light bulbs, £40 on a reversing camera and that was the total of my yearly outlay. My wife's three year old Audi cost me £275 that day! So for anyone thinking of joining our ranks but reluctant to do so, due to bad press by people who really don't have a clue, here is testimony of proving them wrong!
Hope you all managed to get some miles under your belt this week-end. I'm off now to do just that.
Enjoy GG.

Tbh.. If the garage didn't let me stay with the car I'd take it and leave. I always stay with it, drive it onto the ramps etc. Good chance to have a poke underneath as well.

My garage (Roses Garage - Sandwich) are really sympathetic to TVR's and accept the fact that the handbrake is awful, accept that certain readings may be poor, know that TVR's need a tickle at times but ALWAYS use me to turn on the lights, rock the steering etc. I even get down in the pit with the tester!!
They are ace and I'll never take it to Kwik fit who wouldn't have a clue!!

Superb a good year, glad it went through with no problem. Moted mine on Wednesday and all good as well. I do have a power steering leak to fix from the pinion seal, hoping the seal has just dyed up as it was sitting for 18 months with the engine out and never leaked before!!!!

No road tax as back to work Wednesday, I was working with your lad last trip on the Dweller, telling me a few story's about you the dog and the Cerb, ha ha!

Hope this weather lasts great TVR weather!

Nice topic and some reassurance for someone who will be looking at a couple tomorrow. On the subject of your reversing camera, I've been thinking some kind of parking sensors are a must. Do many people get these added?

I haven't. Suppose it depends what you're used to. I mostly drive large saloons and a pickup truck so the Cerbera feels about the size of an Early Learning Centre Cosy Coupe. I find it really easy to park but everyone is different.

I have found the reversing camera invaluable! and certainly gives me more reassurance when reversing in to a tight spot (just in case ) I had not seen that little obstacle that was just below my eye level -Ouch! Unobtrusive and works so well. Just need one on the front now! Scotty glad yours got through the MOT. Yes Jack told me he had met up with a Scotch man who was a petrol head :0)
