MIL light cutting the engine

As you might recall from my last post, my pride and joy has been sitting in my parents garage since Christmas. So i recently asked my Dad to start her up. He tried this today, and he says the engine just about fired up, but then immediately cut out at the same time as the MIL light coming on. He tried this once or twice, with the same result. Any ideas what might be happening here?

I normally leave the car for about 4 or 5 weeks at a time. The first time I start it up I'll check all my fluids then give it a whirl. If it starts first time (depending on battery charge) then I need to hold the revs a little above idle for a couple of minutes or it may cut out. The MIL light normally comes on when the engine cuts out anyway.
Check the easy stuff first, petrol, battery charge, big fuse. All of these can make the car cut out.
Does it start ok if it is jump started?

I agree....MIL light should go out once running....only if it stays on when running do you have a problem!

Don't want to state the obvious here Greg if your father is used to starting a Cerbera, but is he applying some throttle when he tries to start it or just trying on the starter only?

You're not wrong there Darren. Last week he was trying to start her by pressing the black central locking button in the middle of the console Still, i have since versed him in the art of starting Cerbies, and he is still getting nowhere.
