Tyre sizes for 18" spiders.?

Just wondering what tyre sizes most of you folk are running on the 18" FRONT et42 spiders. Fitted to the front of the car.
Ive tried a set on my car that had 235/40/18,s on the fronts, and found they rubbed on the bodywork.
Ide like to run 235/35,s but theres very little choice.
How does the 225/35,s sit, are they a bit stretched on the rims.??
I was going to get some 255/35,s on the back wheels,, [ et42,s again]..Im guessing i wont have any issues with these...

I tried 40's on the front and they were all wrong!
I have 225 35 18 and 255 35 18. Thats the standard size. Yes the fronts looked stretched when mounted to spiders.

Fronts:

Falker FK452 - 225/35ZR18 87Y

Rear:

Falker FK452 - 255/35ZR18 94Y

As above for me, I've been running these sizes front and rear for just over 10 years without problem.

Started this thread recently if you want some more info but, as I said, I run standard sizes and the front turn-in is beyond stunning !
