Something was wrong with the clutch in the end. I was very afraid the very intermittant fault wouldnt be diagnosed, due to its rather intermittant nature 
Dream Machines agreed that intermittantly it was not behaving as it should be, drained and cleaned up the fluids, adjusted the biting point (moving it forwards) but its still not right.
I get my cerb back today, and return it in a few weeks for a new clutch!
Very pleased I bought from a dealer, DM have been great and left me feeling as I should do, at ease with my purchase and well chuffed!
edited to say... Im concerned about the 2 weeks prior to a new clutch, its not likey to "go" in that time, nor is it likely to damage the gearbox(?) ... is it?
Tony suggested the spring finger(s) might have had it... not sure.

I wouldn't worry about the 2 weeks until its fitment too much, worst case scenerio is that they'll have to pick it by flatbed, but most likely it will just be a pain when the problems occurs.

I'd worry more about the inconvenience than the potential damage. If they're giving it back to you as OK to drive, then I'd just get out there and drive it. I would make sure you've always got a mobile phone with you with plenty of battery juice left in the meantime, though, and an arranged procedure for if it lets you down. I.e. have it pre-agreed with Dream Machines that they'll flat-bed it to the garage & give you a lift home FOC should it pack in.
Great result. I bought mine from DM and they sorted out a few niggles early on without hesitation. My clutch went belly up after about 4 months and was all covered under the warranty sold to me by DM again without question.
You can't beat a main dealer I reckon. And they send you a Christmas card every year!!!!

Sorry to hi-jack your thread, but as DM seem like a good dealer I've been looking through their stocklist. Did you get the impression there was any chance of negotiating their prices or it is a case of paying what's asked?

They move a little, but dont have the oomph to do their dance across a dry screen anymore. New ones on order, sorted by DM (the Dungeon Master)

That should be a relatively easy fix. If DM don't come up trumps (I'm sure they will) get to a scrapper and pull one off a Morris Minor (or was it a mini, can't remember).

Yup, mine did the same but managed to avoid the cost of a replacement (thanks Joolz
). Mine broke so needed new parts but I remember someone mentioning regreasing them or something when they're a bit weak. Anyway, that's another 250 quid saved by buying from a dealer! Anyway, back to my hi-jack and DM's willingness to negotiate?

Just nodded, paid, signed on the spotted line and that was it. Whilst not everyone will agree, you may feel a certain sense of satisfaction having paid the asking price for your P&J. I dont like it when people knock my prices down, Tony runs a business too and for what its worth I respect that, hes covered himself for the clutch, wiper motor still made the profit he wants and we are both in good stead. And... if as is the case as has happened before, something wear-n-tear crops up in month 4 (outside month 3) Id hope it would be fixed.
Had this been my second cerb though, Id have knocked 10k off the price, easy!
