Steering sensitivity.?
Discussion
Ok ive had my car for about 2 months now, and i find everytime i drive it i need to concentrate a lot more than my "other" cars.
IE the steering is very precise and the car seems very "pointy".
Im guessing this is a trait of the cerbera having a "quick" rack.
The alighnment has been checked and is ok...
Is there anyway of de-sensitising it. Other than putting a different rack in.. Or is the rack specific to the cerb...
Cheers Dave W.

the easy they can change direction should not be confused with nervousness. You do hear two main complaints, either they are dangerous on bumpy roads or they love to follow ruts. Decent suspension correctly set up is needed. Once done they are a surprisingly agile car, not quite a lotus but pretty good IMHO.
From recent experience agree totally with need for suspension set-up by a specialist, not your local fast fit centre. My SpeedSix suspension was crashing on potholes at 5mph, wearing inner side of tyres, and steering made me nervous, never mind the Cerb. Professional set-up cured all of the above.
If you don't have excessive negative camber at the front which will make it feel very twitchy and more susceptible to bump steer, then you could try adding a bit more toe in this will make the car feel more stable and less sensitive to steering input. If its setup properly then it shouldn't feel like it always trying to kill you.
Not sure what is excessive camber but I run 2.5 dregs and it doesn't suffer from bump steer and is quick to change direction. I also run Intrax shocks and eibach(?) springs. I'm not sure if half the issues are for those with 'slammed' ride heights on tired suspension, mine is pretty near standard heightand looks jacked up compared to some I've seen? It's probably not an optimal track setting but is very good on our roads....
Thanks folks for the replies so far...
No i dont just drive front drive euro boxes..But a miriad of different performance cars.!!!!

Where did you get your intrax shocks from, and how do you find them.? What sort of adjustments are there on them.?
Brummie.
Itd be nice to know how you fixed the bump steer.?
Was it with some spacers under the steering rack.

Raising the rack was stage one, I also had adapters made so i could "flip" the track rod ends, stock geometry is so far out, you need to try and get the arms to follow a similar trojectory through their travel.Mine to start with, with the bottom wishbones flat, the tie rods were at a far more acute angle, not a good start.
You can measure bump steer with a couple of axle stands and some wire tied between to act as a straight edge to measure from, move the wheel up through the arc (without shock in situ so its free to move) and measure from the front and back of wheel.
Remember to hold the car at the ride height you wish to start at.
Add and remove washers until you get best results, crude but if you persevere its worth doing.
You will have to get the tracking reset too.
