I'm trying to place an order for new bolts to start putting the Cerb back together.

I've looked at the lengths in the bolt sizes sticky and have started to compare them with the bolts that came out of my car....

Looks like a lot of those that came out of mine dont really match the length stated.

Heard plenty of stories about using whatever was in the bin at the time.

Just wondering did anyone else find this and what did you do, just order the sizes stated in the sticky????

I bought bolt kits from RT Racing in Sheffield. Some of the bolts don't match what came off of the car but they all do their job. Rebuilding cars is what RT does, so I had a fair idea that it would work.

Not 100% perfect and ended up with one or two missing from the kits though.

There's a kit of bolts for the suspension, though with ours being a GT even some of those were wrong.
For the rest I took no notice of the sticky & just ordered ones to match what came out but in stainless for all the body mounting ones. Even then you can may find some of the ones in there were too long so you may find there's a more suitable length.

The sizes stated in the sticky are a combination of factory original and replacement bolts mainly from my car and measured as they came off it. It wasn't possible to tell exactly what was original and what was a later replacement and the list has been added to after that. However all the bolt lengths given in the sticky should work correctly.

If you want to be sure what fits your car just measure them as you take them off and order exact replacements.

I used the sticky as a guide but I think there were one or two changes. I also took loads of photos prior to stripping, just in case I needed to refer back.

What you could do is print off the sticky, measure the bolts as you remove them and mark up the page accordingly.
