In order to start sorting the issues with my new cerbera I've been trying to get the diag software to work I've tried 3 different laptops and 3 different programs and keep getting can not open serial port

I've looked at com 1 and 2 etc but all looks ok

So far I'm just trying the serial port inside the ecu how do I tell if just ha e a 2 or 3 pin plug elsewhere?

Open up the ECU (its behind a panel in the passenger side footwell) and you will see a 9 pin D socket. Connect your lead into this and you can either use the new improved software devoloped by EvoOlli on here or buy the RS-AJP app if you have an android phone or tablet.
The original software on the TVR site is a little "flaky" and difficult to use.

It maybe easier to connect it to a android smart phone with Aides AJP software. It works much better then the original software I have found as the original on mine always used to drop the connection.

You need to wire the serial lead differently, check one of the threads to find the diagram.

Wiring diagram is at http://www.tvr-cerbera.co.uk/software.html

You don't need to worry about the resistors unless you want to reprogramme the ECU.

Just make sure you get everything the right way round and don't make it a mirror image like one idiot did....

Also you need to have the right USB to serial converter, make sure you have one of the types that is known to work.
