Morning all,
I reworked the earth points at the front of the car last night as they were pretty grotty with remnants of power coating on most surfaces not to mention the usual corrosion, road grime, etc.
However, that work only accounts for two of the three. Where exactly is the third earth point for the ECU? Does it require removal of trim to get at or is it just tucked away in an awkward position?

There are actually 4.
1) Front offside near the radiator.
2) Nearside wheelarch, between outrigger mounts.
3) Under the centre console, requires console and dash removal (PITA!).
4) In front of the fuel tank (requires tank removal).
I've just put my car back together following a chassis refurb. The ECU earth point is actually on the roll cage and is the in-turn earthed through the bolts that join the cage to the chassis. There was absolutely no corrosion in this area on mine.
HTH,

Thanks Olly,
So I could probably leave the ECU point alone based on what you experienced. Would be interesting to see if I get any more comments along similar lines to convince me not to bother tackling it.
The petrol tank point doesn't worry me, tank removal looks fairly straight forward, do you agree?
Cheers

Also you don't need to take the tank out to get to the earth, you can simply pull the drivers side of the tank out leaving the filler alone. Personally I'd leave both the ECU and the earth in the boot since mine were both in new condition - that is unless you happen to get water in these areas - my car is dry
OK thanks Mike.
I might take a look anyway as the earth points I have tackled were full of powder coat and were relying on the thread of the partially corroded nut / bolt to create the earth path which coming from an aircraft background I know not to be the optimum way of achieveing an earth.
Cheers
