Exhaust - satanic setup
Discussion
Maranello,
I dont think you will be dissapointed with the amount of pops and bangs out the back of the Cerbera, a little different (not better) to a fezza with a Tubi.
To get flames some people say that you need to leave the cats on and others say that they have only got flames without the cats fitted, but in all cases you need a nice stainless steel exhaust (sports type).
I am running no cats with a sports exhaust and I have blue flames on acceleration and yellow on the over run. I have never seen these just going on what I am told!
Also use the highest octane fuel you can get, make sure it doesnt damage the cats if you leave them on.

Wrong forum eh?
Cheers for the info. Just making sure I know exactly what I need doing to the car before it is shipped as there will be no turning back, literally. Just listing interior mods now so will either have them fitted before it goes over or stick the parts in the boot.
D-day is fast approaching and I have been driving myself insane going through the threads for info (whilst watching the various vids of you lucky swines having all the fun back home).

Cheers,
Going to sound a little crazy but a friend is getting the car for me. I just have no time to return home to get stuff done myself. I flew back for a day last year to test drive a 4.5 (in the rain) but time is rarely on my side.
Hopefully James will be able to sort everything out for me and then it will be stuck in a tin and sent over.
Definately let you know when I'm in town. Where abouts are you based? I am in Kensington, London.

Cheers. I am really starting to have trouble sleeping now. Everything is being prepared for a last week of Feb purchase and 2nd week of March shipping date.
Haven't been this excited about a car for ages. Various print outs of the beloved PH Cerb forum strewn about the place as I didn't bring a laptop!
Bar the usual concerns, I am not sure if I want the 18" spiders over the 4.5 17" alloys. I saw there was a recall and I don't want to be stuck with defective wheels that far away. What do you think?

Hi
If james is sourcing the car it's highly likely it'll come through me or tvr power for it's checkover / any work etc .. mail me what you want doing exhaust wise and I'll sort it no probs if it comes through me .. is it just that you want completely the loudest thing ever? if so i can do you an exhaust with no silencers in at all .. but it will be *bloody* loud

Cheers Jools,
Long time. I was the one that was over for the day and tested that silver 4.5 one rainy day a while back.
Yes, I want the loudest most flame spitting car you can deliver. Got to give James a ring to go over what I'm after, again.
Hope all is well with you. Car is now going over to L.A to steal Faisal's monopoly of the West Coast so I will get a copy of that vid you were talking about from him.
Will give you a ring in a few weeks when money gets handed over.

The recall was for the 18" RLs, not the 17" RLs. So you'll be fine with sticking with the better looking 17" wheels

Yep - we can do flames, nuclear weapons, and Fezza-destroying pace!
For reading your post the logical conclusion was you wanted to get a Ferrari to do the above..... bit of a challenge
Oh boy, if you want flames and noise, we've got the lot - and you can rattle people's windows at idle, let alone when you wind her up!
Hope you get what you're after - and rememeber, noise is as much of a drug as pace in TVR land!

He hee. Sorry, should have clarified.
I have watched and waited.....then waited some more to sort myself out with a Cerb. Tested one last year in the wet but relocation put a spanner in the works. Now it's got the green light again and considering where the car is going I need a very mean Cerb as I want the Yanks speachless - a mighty feat indeed but no other car can do it IMHO.
So, just to clarify, the 17" RLs are the wheels which the 4.5 comes with as standard? There is an 18" version? Which TVR wheel had the recall?
Ta,

Ta,
yup there was an 18 inch version of eth RL7 wheel as fitted to the 4.5 cerbie. there's not many left, and if you do find a set you'd be well advised to throw them in the skip cos the fracturing of the inner rim can happen at any time ..
Didn't realise it was you Maranello who came over .. will try to pay more attention in future
Say hi to Faisal if you see him, he's been a bit quiet recently.

ha haa. Twas my first time in a tiv add to that it was a 4.5 Cerb on the wet motorway starting from the layby! James gets out and I thought about saying some form of prayer just to get me back to Joospeed safe and sound.
I waited a while for a gap as I was bricking it somewhat and did not want any wheelspin incidents. I nipped in and off I went. It really was a very strange sensation driving something I'd wanted for so long seeing as I hadn't even sat in a Cerb before. I tell you what, the car really does pick up speed without you even trying. I only took it up to 90mph and wisely so. I didn't want do anything silly, especially in the wet, just wanted to get a rough idea of how the car felt.
Seriously, nothing else I have been in compares to the sensation of the Cerb and I have been in a fair few supercars. I think I will spend many hours in the garage just getting in and out of the car just to do the old look over the shoulder thing and think to myself "sweeeet".
So, as the time draws ever closer and my mind(and Mrs) say blue with cream/butterscotch I have a nagging voice in the back of my head telling me titanium grey with black, Green with tan and WHITE with blue!
