Yet Another New Owner

Hi all
another new owner introduction. Took delivery of a 98 4.2 beginning of January on a very wet and windy day. A little worried having read the warnings in the forums about losing the back end etc But I have been taking it very easy, not least because I'm finding it almost impossible to take the car out without the two youngest children in the back! I'm definitely not going to give it welly with them in (despite the fact that the pair of them are egging me on to go faster and make it roar :-)
It has surprised me how child friendly the Cerbera is. They both still bust themselves laughing when I hit the starter button. On the longer trips we have done they have both fallen asleep as well. So maybe its not such a "buckboard ride" as one of the reviews put it.
I've even done the school run with it. Great fun rolling up in a Cerbera to drop the kiddies off :-)
All the careful driving getting used to it came a bit unstuck last weekend. I took my father in law out for a ride up the A1 but on the way back the rain started, which turned to sleet and then to snow. By the time we got back to his house there was a covering of snow on the side roads. (That's Yorkshire weather for you).
Driving very carefully with a very light foot on the accelerator I managed not to lose the back end and only had the occasional twitch.
Is this a record? Driving a Cerbera on snow after just 14 days of ownership. I definitely don't recommend it.
The Cerbera is just amazing. I was expecting to have the big grin all over my face but so do the kids, they love it to bits.
Can't wait for the better weather to get out on some of the really good Yorkshire roads. I did it on a motorcycle in my youth, looking forward to doing it all over again in the Cerbera. Driving these roads in the summer more than makes up for the snow :-)

Welcome Mike, I too am fairly new to the Cerbera ownership experience and love it. I do use mine pretty much every day, except in really poor weather.
My five year old daughter has found that she can rest her head very comfortably between window sill and front seat back rest and sleep soundly whilst I merrily enduce burbbling delight.

Hi Mike, I bought my 4.2 at the end of September, so I also have yet to go on a 'proper' drive on a nice and bright sunny day. We do still have sunny days in this country don't we? Like you my two kids aged 7 & 5 love going out in the car and order me to pick them up from school in it on a Friday, weather permitting. It just wasn't the same in my school days, being picked up in a Riley Elf or an Austin Allegro!!! Anyway Mike, welcome to the fold and enjoy the experience.

Thanks for the words of welcome. The fun factor is just great. I would love to drive every day but unfortunately working in the City through the week.
It is so much fun to drive, any excuse to go out in it when I'm home.
I haven't got a decent picture of it yet (partly because its got a bit cruddy going out in the bad weather). Soon as I take a decent one I'll post it on the profile.
Its an unmodified 4.2 in Starmist Green. (There by avoiding the blue versus yellow versus red is best debate)

Had mine a year.
We've got four cars and to show you how much of a draw this is, the mileages in the last 12 months are approximately as follows:
Frontera (dogs car) 600 miles
E-Type 300 miles
X-Type 8,000 miles (Pam's Car & family transport)
Cerbera 14,000 miles
Best moment so far, cruising in the South West of France at the World Surfing Championship.
