Yoko Tyres. on the Cerb.

Has anyone tried Yokohama AVS Sports on a Cerb ?

Just aquired a set of 18" spiders and want some input from you guys regarding tyres,

4.2 1997 Cerb

recommended
235/35zr18 fronts
245/40zr18 rears,

spiders are from a Tuscan, will I need to cut out some of the rear arches, and use spacers?
also what's the story on rack stoppers, some seem to say they are not needed.

1. Make sure the wheels are all Tuscan fronts, not 2x front & 2x rear. You may need spacers, you will probably need some stops on the steering rack, and if you're really unlucky you may need to shave the rear arches. Personally, I only needed the stops on the rack.

2. Very much agree with 35mm front, and 40mm rear for the profile... worked beautifully on mine. Those are the same widths I went for, too, and don't have a bad word to say about it

3. Personally I like the Goodyear Eagle F1s. And the Proxes (would love to try the new T1Rs). But wouldn't touch another set of S03s. No idea how good the Yokohamas are. Are they a decent price?

I can get Yoko's for about £150.00 per corner. The only reason I am contemplating them is I (hangs head in shame) shhhh! “whispers in here once had an Esprit Turbo”, with Yoko's all around, it stuck in wet & dry like sh*t to a blanket.
I’m currently running Continentals on the rear and so2's on the front, not had any problems with the conti's and as this is my first cerb, I am still not pushing it too the limit. Ok a bit fishy tail when i bang on the noise pedal but it seems to straighten up nicely as i push harder.
I am against the so3 as so many people lambaste them. Toyo's are a mid price tyre, and too be honest i have always steered clear of toyo and Bridgestone.
Bridgestone were originally Dunlop, and something to do with Jap's selling tyres in UK under license so they were not allowed to call them Dunlop SP's when they “Dunlop” sold SP (Sports Div.) to the Japs.
I am only on standard 16" rims at present, but IMOA if your going to spend a few quid on rims an extra couple of hundred quid for the best available tyres, is not a bad thing, but at the end of the day its personal opinion, and horses for courses.
If I have offended anyone who is currently running on toyo's or bridgestone's. I am sorry.... but then don't take it personally, its just my opinion....If you own the best looking Car ever made (IMOA) then you should not compensate on quality, as we drive our cars as they should be driven and need the best possible contact with the road.
Yes, Toyo and Bridgestone are/were original fitment but also bear in mind that the factory will have to get the best deals possible as they are a business too.

Any input from what size and combinations on 18" rims will be greatly appreciated.
