Hi All,

Took my SP6 out for good run last night and to open her up a bit, did some full on blasts on some quiet A roads and noticed that on the last mile or to heading home as I calmed down the pace that my gear selection (all gears) had gotten a little stiff and harder to select.

Driven to work this morning but just normal speeds and no hammering around and it's still the same, all gears including reverse have gotten stiff and harder to select.

Was always a very smooth box so concerned I've done some damage.

Levels all fine, no leaks anywhere, no crunching when any gear is finally selected but just not as smooth as it was before last nights blast. It isn't slippibg out of gear either and I don't have to hold it in.

Any suggestions on issue/problem and how to rectify? Only had the car 3 months so still learning all the little niggly problems so didn't know if this is what a slave it master cylinder issue would be... Hopefully it's one of the small niggly problems and not a big one!?

Cheers guys appreciate any help or advice smile

Have you checked the clutch fluid? Suspect it's probably low as a result of slave cylinder rubber seals perishing.

Oops just reread your post and you've checked levels. I guess it might be the clutch fingers...?

You're not going to like the synopsis of this one OP but having gone through 3 clutches in my life of TVR ownership you're describing a clutch on it's way out my friend. As mentioned sounds like the fingers have given up the will to remain attached to the clutch. Sorry.

I would be inclined to try bleeding the clutch before taking the gearbox out.

It really is worth getting the clutch done at a specialist, I have always had my car looked after at a specialist who set these clutches up day in day out and I have never suffered from broken fingers and you should get a 12 month parts and labour warranty with work done for additional peace of mind.
