anyhow, what sort of in gear speeds do u guys get?

Depends on year of the car - as I've discovered, some of the more brutal early cars don't even have rev limiters, so it's down to har far you want to push the engine (or if you like the sight of pistons flying through the bonnet!)

I had an indicated 95mph in second last week until I lost confidence and backed off....

As for the other gears, don't know yet as it's not really been the right weather for it!

LOL, know what you mean, I've done a grand total of 46 miles so far this year!!!! Damn weather!

I might be wrong here but mine per 1000 revs, gives 7mph in 1st, then 11, 15, 21, 27. times that by 7000 revs and it should give 49, 77, 105, 147, 189mph.

I don't think that's far off.

The maximum break comes very quickly

So Red Leister was at 8636 rpm at the time he thought he would back off. Phew. Wouldn't like to be in a car with your when your pushing it

I think an over enthusisastic TVR speedo is to blame on Red Leicester's.

He normally changes gear when his ears start bleeding

To be honest, the speedo has always read pretty accurate at most speeds (if my Road Angel was to be believed), but probably the adrenaline was clouding my vision..... all I wanted to do was find out if the shift lights worked....

Having said all that, I'm trying to establish the heritage of my car - all the engineers who've driven it have come back saying it's fast - it seems to be about the 10th off the line back in 96, and was first registered with the plate N* AJP, so there's some suspicion it may have been a factory / staff car, and thus been somewhat "tweaked".....
