Someone has asked me how to fit an oil temp gauge to the cerbera. I am selling a brand new 'TVR' one on ebay. I have told them that they can use the clock hole and the power from the clock for the light. That a sandwich plate is required in which to mount the sender. Anyone know exactly which plate is required...? I assume its simply a matter then of running a wire from the sender to the gauge ie around the engine and through the bulkhead?

Sod it I've pulled the ad - think I'm going to fit it to mine. So question still stands...how exactly are these fitted...

The sandwich plate I used was from eBay

http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/131110467551?_mwBanner=1

It comes with the adapters for the oil filter

The adapter is screwed through the sandwich plate onto the existing mocal remote filter housing then the filter onto the new adapter.

Blank off the other holes and screw in the sensor ( I have a test point screwed into one of mine to be able to test oil pressure)

Think mine had an earth to it and a a lead to the gauge

I did fine the sandwich plate I had had very sharp edges where the oil flows so I cleaned them all up for fitting.

Where did you get that gauge?
Or did you get it through that group buy a couple of years ago?

Replace the whole filter head mounted to the chassis rail with this

http://www.speedflowshop.co.uk/billet-oil-filter-h...

Only used two ports leaving two blanked, one of the blanks purchased was tapped 1/8NPT to suit the sender.

This looks a much better solution to the problem.
Have you fitted or used this?
I have the oil gauge installed which came with the car; the sender was in the sump plug (which got discarded with the first oil change as it was a poor location)

Cheers

The only problem with this is you are reading the temperature after it has been through the oil cooler, there is a take off that is used for a more accurate reading but it is under the coils so you would need to modify the bracket.

I have a oil stat so having it on the return from the cooler doesn't make much of a difference. Even ok very hot days and hard runs I've never seen it above 90 degrees.
