Engine big problems?
Discussion
My car is actually a Cerbera (1999) but I figured you were the guys to ask. Car had been running on less than 6 cylinders so I decided to take it for a run to see if I could clear it. However it did not clear, eventually it stalled at a junction and wouldnt turn over. Attempted to bump start it with a couple of passers by but no go, engine will not turn over.
Does this mean the dreaded engine rebuild? If so how much might it cost, im close to TVR Power in Coventry, is this my best bet? Thanks

hey ocean,
first things first, im so sorry to hear of your troubles, ill keep my fingers crossed for you bud.
second things first, im especially sorry to hear that youve got troubles cos as a new spd6 owner myself i was cheered only 20 minutes ago to find an old post of yours talking about how much you love your car, despite what all the other (bigger) boys say. but if it helps, and im not sure it does, im really, really, really hoping it all works out for you cos it appears that me and you are the only people around here with any sense at all and no need to overcompensate for personal deffeciencies(JOKE JOKE THIS IS A JOKE lets not get into this shall we? goonies is on a minute after all, dont want to be all riled up for the truffle shuffle).
best of luck Ocean, lemme know how it goes matey.

seriously,
Unlucky. Why dont you sell it as it is? You were selling at £16K? You might have got £14 - 15K, therefore sell as is for £11K. Saves you from a potential bill of £3 - 6K? eg re cost to rebuild www.pistonheads.com/sales/detail.asp?i=36313&s=6
Loads of V8s dont get to that mileage.

ooops, true. of course there is more important stuff. in fact, in the global sense theres more important stuff than health, family etc, right? blimey, lets not be selfish, theres third world poverty, the continuing rampage of aids, the fact that david dickinson still lives, despite my repeated warnings.
was just trying to empathise is all, wasnt even for a second suggesting that cars are the single point of interst in anyones life (apart from mine obviously), sometimes it feels better if someone feels rotten with you. doncha think? i kinda thought that was one of the points of these forums..
again, my apologies if i seemed disrepectful to anyones real worries, was just being friendly (remember: im from a very small village, we have strange courtship rituals around here)
