Afternoon all,

I should have asked this question when I enquired about spark plugs but it slipped my mind.

My car currently has Magnecor leads fitted but I've no idea how old / how many miles they've done and was therefore, thinking of replacing them for peace of mind.

Cheapest source? Any alternatives?

Buy the standard leads from Race Tech in Henley.

Mags cause too many problems on the AJP's.

Blummin' 'eck, I wasn't expecting that. I always thought Mags would be at the top of the list. I'm more than happy to spend less money.

Just out of curiosity why don't Mags leads complement the AJP?

Cheers

Lots of people have misfire problems after fitting them.

I do not know of a specialist who uses them, not saying there isn't one but I don't know of one.

Think you will find the same comments from some of the Chim and Griff boys that Magnacore's can cause misfire problems. I do remember something about them many moons ago. I think my Chimaera had them and I had to ditch them - but it was many many moons ago so can't be sure

Hmmm makes me wonder if my misfire is being caused by my leads. I have the blue leads which I picked up from TVRparts. Lee

Ive got these and they are great, although if you've got the v8 then you really do have to ensure that they are all the way on.

I spent 12 months chasing misfiring problems round the engine bay suspecting and changing everything but the Magnecors which were new shortly before the problems started. It's obvious lookiny back.

I was at my wits end when Joolz suggested I try the standard Racetech ones. My car is fine and the Magnecor KV85s are in landfill somewhere.

The Magnecors wouldn't even clip on to the plugs properly without half an inch chopped off the ends and even then they were a lousy fit.

You say that, I noticed they are a sloppy fit, they sit very loosely on the plug heads.

£46 delivered http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261116398849 from Light Speed Manufacturing.

Used them for several years with no problems.
