So the starter is spinning but not engaging. I need the car for a meet on Sunday... What are my chances? Could it be as simple as hitting it with a hammer?!
Thanks - this is the first time and completely out of the blue. The battery has just been changed for a Red Top so no issues on that front. Once the airboxes and induction are removed is it relatively easy to give it a tap?
Just get the scuttle panel off and look down the back of the engine on the passenger side. You should be able to see the starter solenoid and get at it with a metal bar to give it a tap.
