So, two weeks into ownership (an early 4.2) and I may have my first leak (or, with a bit of luck, it is a puddle of slow drying rainwater...). The last two times I have taken it out of the garage there has been a pool of liquid (no discernible smell) in the proximity of the front passenger side wheel. The second time the pool was smaller. It could well be rain coming in under the wall, but the rest of the garage was bone dry. Is there anything that could leak and leave a pool in that area? I checked the expansion tank and the coolant seemed to be at more or less the same level. Any ideas?!

Coolant is sweet but toxic. Don't taste random stuff off the floor. (Coolant will feel slippery when rubbed between your fingertips and will usually have a metallic "rusty" smell)

The air con drain on a Cerbera is behind the drivers side front wheel, not in front of the passenger wheel.

As said taste it, expansion bottle is on that side so I could just be finding it's level as the weather warms slightly or if tasteless then possibly air con drain but it would normally only do that if you have had the air con on.

If coolant don't worry unduly just keep an eye on the level and if it keeps doing it then suspect a cracked expansion tank or a perished hose, there are quite a few hoses down there as well.

Thanks for the advice guys. No aircon, so only option is coolant. It's further forward than the expansion tank, but maybe it's running down a hose? It was a bit slippery, but then so is water! I'll keep an eye on the level in the expansion tank and dab a tiny bit on my tongue if it happens again.

PS - if I have to top up the coolant, is there a preferred type?

There's a 10mm white nylon 't' peice which splits the pipework from the header tank to each water manafold on each side of the 'v'. Its normaly mounted on the bulkhead just behind the header tank. It gets brittle due to the heat of the engine. Mine leaked from here and i changed it for a brass one off ebay..... Worth a check!

Blue, the newer pink stuff eats copper which if you have and original rad means it eats your rad.
