So, I've just got home after being rescued by the nice (a bit odd) RAC man.

The answer. A slightly loose positive terminal connection on the battery.

The reason for the post is to gauge opinion as to was that the complete answer.

Background:
The battery is always left on charge.
The car has been off the road for 18 months having a new chassis.
It always had a hot start problem. (immobiliser, I think).
This morning I changed the new wiring on the new Spa Oil gauge as it had stopped working.
The Speedo is playing up. It already has a new diff transducer.
There is an odd intermittent electrical buzz from the area of the immobiliser unit in the car.
After the RAC man got it going the hazards kept going off on the way home. I know this happens if you disconnect the battery. Which effectively happened.

Anyway. I'm thinking it may be time for a new immobiliser.

Or the cheaper route, a new battery and master fuse (in case that's iffy).

Any pearls of wisdom?

It was good to be driving it again though. Even with the TVR trepidation of what's going wrong next!

Thanks

Your rev counter usually goes off the wall if it's the big fuse. Does your mil light come on ever? As that will buzz if you've an issue.

Mil light comes on with the ignition and then goes off when started. And the rev counter is behaving ok.
The more I think about it the more I think the iffy positive would be giving variable voltages which would play havoc with the immobiliser and the other electronics.

So could be a simple answer.

Thanks
