ok, whre to begin, Iam starting to look for a cerb to buy (have a chim at present)can any one explain to me in simple terms what the rose conversion is etc. As far as Iam aware it increases performance of the car speed wise but is there anything else it does.

Also, is there additional running costs of this type of cerb. I have seen a couple one is a straight 4.5L and the other is the rose conversion but has had an engine rebuild.

I supose the long and short of it is I know a cerb wil be expensive to maintain compared to the chim but is a rose conversion pushing that cash even further.

Excuse ignorance on this but as I say Iam new the cerbs

Red Rose has had some engine modifications and remapping, basically meaning it is pumping out closer to the normal quoted figure of 420bhp rather than the 370ish figure of normal 4.5. From what I have read on here, you can do the mods to a standard 4.5 for about 2K but if there is not that much price difference in the 2 cars you are looking at, the RR is the one to have, plus it allows you to run more happily on 95 rather than 97+ when you have to, thanks to a small switch on the dash.

370ish normal 4.5? The highest is usually about 350, more typically 330.

danny .. we've all-but equalled your old 4.5 RR power output now .. 394 as against the 398 you had .. I've unlocked the secrets of making the induction work well without getting the heads off

you need another cerbera

Joolz - How do you think those induction mods would work on my Cerb?

If TVR are on the ball they'd have included these mods in your *special* build. The honest answer is *i don't know* .. but they have picked up 13/14bhp on a std car ...
the induction is restricting the output at about 380/390bhp .. so as yours is good to start with (!) I'd "expect" to see that sort of gain if not more .. usual disclaimers apply of course
