Help! Part needed desperately. Pleeeeeeeeeeease!
Discussion
My car is sitting at the body shop waiting for one small part from TVR which is on back order, and TVR cannot set a date for delivery at the moment. (Could be tomorrow, but in light of the fact that they have laid off 100 staff, more likely next year.)
Has anyone got lying around (or is not using their own car in the next say 4-6 weeks and can take off their car!) an oil cooler pipe, part number E2932 for a 98 4.5 Cerbera.
It basically runs from the oil cooler at the front of the car to the engine sump (not to the filter housing).
Anyone got one, or know someone who does?
I have been carless for 4 months and was meant to get it back last Friday, then this Thursday and now I don't know when.
(Breaks down sobbing
)
Thanks in advance...

Try these.... www.peninsula-cars.co.uk/index_tvr.asp or www.joospeed.co.uk/contact.asp or www.bellhillgarage.co.uk/ or www.douglasvalley.co.uk/ ...the later two are breakers and both have Cerbies....

Can you not just get one made up? If its the flexiable pipe, it should just be standard hose fittings....(he says optomistically)
No, apparently you can't, cos it has to take oil at HP and blah blah blah! (he says not knowing either way!!!!!)
Well, all oil hoses have to take high pressure. But hopefully you can get one from a TVR place. :-)
Any hydraulic hose supplier can help you out. Try you local Dunlop Hi-Flex or Pertek dealer. Most large industrial estates have one or both.
Engine oil is at very low pressure compared to "normal" hydraulic systems so it sounds like your delaer/paintshop is telling you a load of B**llocks and can't be arsed to go and get some made up.
Are you at the SELMW meet tonight? If so see you there.

mine had a flex pipe on it which was fitted before my getting car ... but slightly rubbed on roll bar resulting in me dropping all the oil!!
4.2 pipe may be different but proper one is steel for a while going into rubber further on ..
I couldnt get one so had a new one made which fouled so ended up dropping the roll bar down slightly with spacers ...
been Ok since ... hope that helps .... DAS
