Typically out of a parking lot when the steering is fully to the right/left I have the feeling the front tyre touches the front part in the wheel arch. The tyre is not even new, and there is "evidence" of scratches.

Is this a problem of to low springs, steering geometry, bushes ?? Anyone seen this problem or any ideas ?

Thanks, Peter

Have you recently changed anything, if not it seems odd that you have not noticed anything before.

I had rubbing when I swapped out to 18s with a 30 offset and Gaz adjustables so I dropped down a tyre size which has cured it.

Do you have spiders? If so do you have lock stops fitted? If so has one fallen off?
What size are front tyres? 35 profile?
Are front springs ok?

Gentlemen

Thanks for the ideas and hints. I use 225/50 front, no spiders.
Sorry, but I don't know what lock stops are ?
When I turn the steering wheel fully to the left or right the servo starts whining, but this is probably normal.

Had no time yet to get the car on a ramp, but ride height could be problem.

Thanks Peter

What diameter rims are you running? Tyres on mine are 225/35/18, with no rubbing issues. Some people have issues with 225/40/18's so 50 profile tyres could be the issue depending on the overall diameter of the wheel & tyre combination

Lock stops are nylon washers on the rack to stop it travelling too much in either direction, See link below

I also ended up going for 225/35/18.

50 seems very high.

50 Profile tyres sounds like 16 inch rims are being used, but they are still too high a profile. A quick google suggests 225/45 front and 245/45 rear are the correct sizes and this sounds about right given my 4.5 runs 235/40 front and 255/40 rear.

My 96 owners book, states 225x45x16 on the front. And 235x50x16 on the back.

I tend to agree, that 50 profile on the front is too high.
