30mph zone.
It was very busy though so there is a small chance it wasnt me...
I seemed to believe that Truevelos only take oncoming piccies. If so it wasnt me - but then i have heard varying reports on this as well.
And no insurance still aint bad -but i have to insure a Mondeo as well with no NCB - cannot find a competitive company to mirror NCB.
and that is 450 3rd party only!!!

Depends - if you were speading in a 30MPH zone then that costs on insurance... but if its a 50MPH or 60MPH zone might work out just a little more... I think I'm right....
I do not think the limit makes much difference. I think it is more to do with how much over that you are, and therefore how severe the penalty.
I have 3 points for an SP60 (undefined speeding offence, I think that stands for), which gained me 3 points for doing 69mph in a 50mph limit. This added 10% to my premium, which I am told would have been the same if I had 3 points from speeding in a 30mph zone
agreed.....I have 6 coming off in Feb next yr. This time of year seems to be bad for me!!!
I take it that declaration is required to avoid null insurance for 5yrs...cant quite recall. I suppose it absolutley isnt worth 'forgetting'....
Oh well another Cerbera to leave the fold...anyone want a pretty much sorted purple '99 4.5 - 26k (i'll do owt to try to bump premiums up!)

Dont know where Truvelo comes from but Gasto is a contraction of Gatsonides who was the rally driver who invented the concept to track the speed of tennis balls.
It was only a few years later that he though about the motoring angle...
The resident encyclopedia has spoken
Damn, thats some detailed muscular reactions...
(I still want to believe the chicago mob is behind all this, a new way of making money!)
PS. does anyone know if this gatso-not-clever bassid lives? I think its time we went back in time and got rid of him, actually while we're back there, I got a list of names that needed disposing of...

Truvelos are the ones that snap you front-on; they're usually blue boxes. Don't think there's an associated camera flash with them.
They do flash its just behind a magenta filter so its not as apparent and doesnt dazzle.
Round lens - Truvelo
Square lens - Gatso
That's correct, they do flash but it's not at all bright (I think I only noticed it because it was a dull overcast day).

Ah, ok. I'll consider myself enlightened. Know of a couple of people that got done by them that never saw a flash.
I was staring right at it so probably got a better view than most - just sped up as part of an overtake on a VW Golf so was travelling at about 1.0 units too.
Looked left to pull back in, straight at the damned camera.
Ah well, it could have been worse - it could have been a Gatso.....
