A Cerb without an engine is surely just a Cerb?! Good luck getting it all together, hope you didn't pay a lot and can make it work!

I wasn't suggesting it should not be saved, merely commenting on the op's rather vague knowledge of cerberas.

I just bought a 4,2 Cerbera but kept my Tuscan.
Cerbera is having some work done so hardly driven it. Frustrating as hell frown

Out of curiosity, is it the engine from a well known salvage dealer? If so check out the history of it well as it may not have turned for quite some time.

With regard to whats been asked... Ive never driven a Tuscan so can't comment on handling differences but have been told by experts and owners that they are more twitchy and the chassis a bit more nervous than the Cerberas.

I understand the Tuscan has more electronics (dash/rev counters etc) and its general wiring is better?

Finally yes the Cerbera has got power steering... in the form of a hydraulic LR pump which has been changed by many to an electric PS pump which is used by the Citroen Saxo/Pugs

On theBay the pump can be picked up from £35 upwards from what I've seen. Its a well regarded mod and easier/recommended to do while engine out.

I have heard from some its heavier and not necessary to do for the sake of it as if the hydraulic one is good then no problem... until it has a problem wink

Having just come from a Tuscan 4.3 to a cerbera 4.5 I can honestly say I made the right decision!
It's a world apart, much more confortable over long miles, the noise to me is much nicer and dont even get me started on the torque...

Issues so far have been slave cylinder and starter motor, in fact I'm now on my second starter motor! Other than that, its been fine, no electrical issues that weren't of my doing. It doesn't have the same head turning body shape that the Tuscan has, but it does look the meanest of the TVRs.

I'd look at something like this before parting with your cash on a 4.2 rehash.
