So, after trying to start the car this morning only to find a completely dead battery, I'm perusing Amazon, while waiting for the RAC to arrive in order to find a small jump start pack. Something I can keep in the car to save future problems.

Can anyone recommend one, or will this do the job?

Eveco Truck/Car Jump Starter 800A Peak 16800mAh Portable Charger Power Bank with LED Light & USB Port https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01C452KHE/ref=cm_sw_r...

Thanks

Interesting bit of kit. I would assume it is a LiPo pack with multiple cells in series to provide a high C rating. From my experience with quadcopters using high power LiPos these can be quite dangerous if not handled properly; they don't like being stored long term fully charged - they can split and ignite. Probably not something to be left in the car. Remember the Boeing that was grounded due to battery fires?

ETA: Looks like Li-Ion, more info and reviews here:

Thanks for the info. Much appreciated!

Went for this in the end, will report back tomorrow when it arrives.

It'll be useful in other ways, going to Glastonbury festival in a couple of weeks, so will double up as a phone charger too! All good.

I bought one, but didn't have much luck with it to be honest, but then I was having starter motor troubles at the time so that wasn't really a fair test

The other guys have had better luck

So. Jump pack arrived this morning. Worked perfectly straight out of the box.

Now to find out why the battery went flat overnight.
