Hi All,
Another body off thread!

Finally got all of the bolts, nuts and everything out and off the cerb yesterday after five weekends, in preparation for the body off lift next weekend. The car is in a yard so won't be able to measure it for next week, and I'm going to make a platform for the body to go on.

I'd really appreciate it if someone could measure their Cerbera from the back of the front wheel arch to the front of the rear wheel arch so I can get the measurements for the front to back of the platform and also the width of the car please - so I can gather the width - thanks very much for your help.

I've added a picture of what I'm trying to measure in case it doesn't make any sense in words!

I'll post some piccies once I've built it with the measurements in case anyone else wants to do it in the future.

Thanks a lot

Hi, I make it approx 186 cm long , and 170 cm wide (from outer edge of each tyre). Good luck!

Don't know if the Cerb is the same but Chim, Griff and S do not like being left with the rear body unsupported.
If they are the same then your supports will need to extend to a point where they can support the boot floor.

Can't help you with dimensions, but if you haven't seen these you may find them amusing

Cheers guys thanks for the measurements

With regards to the rear support other than the bolts which attach the rear brackets to the boot floor - it looks as though the whole boot is unsupported anyway other than the fibreglass boot itself - as the chassis doesn't extend that far?

That video is absolutely brilliant - love it!

The post system in use there - does anyone have any details as how that was made? As I would love to copy that it's ideal. My platform will be just to move the body out of the way really whilst I can work on the chassis. The post system would be much better so I can leave it standing in a corner until the chassis refurb is done.

The posts were 150mm square fence posts. The uprights were cross drilled and set into flush mount post bases that I put extended wooden "feet" on for stability. The cross bars were the same covered in carpet for protection. I bent brackets out of sheet steel that were screwed to the cross bars that had a hole in so you could adjust the height with a pin through the upright.

The bracket was just a rectangular piece of steel 450mm x 300mm. Cut the red lines, fold the tab down by 90 degrees and fold the sides up by 90 degrees. Fix a bracket to each end of the cross bar with the tab sticking down. Stick a suitable pin through the bracket and the upright to hold it all together.
