Vindictive or Dishonest...either way am not happy!

I went out to clean the car yesterday morning and realised some bd had scratched it. Only about 8in long on the rear drivers side wing. If it wasn't done on purpose why can't people be honest and own up to it. It was the side next to the pavement. My question is...the scratch is not too deep, I was planning to have the front end resprayed at some point (maybe end of summer) to remove stone chips and presume I can wait till then as no damage will be done leaving it untreated...Is this right? Otherwise is there anything I need to do in the meantime.

Maybe my next door neighbour who leaned out the window the other night when I had parked and asked..
NDN: "That's a loud car you've got there mate?"
Me: "Yes, sorry about that"
NDN: "Is it legal?"
Me: "Yes, I'm afraid so" - I think...
NDN: "Well it's making my fing windows rattle"

Had the same thing on Sunday morning. Went to get in and noticed a scratch about 6 inches long, just behind the drivers door on the rear wing. Mine's garaged as well, so must have happened while out and parked the day before.

But then, as I'm inside the garage muttering and swearing about careless w*****s , I glance out to see a feckin numpty just walk past dragging his fing bag along the side of the car. When I said "Oi, did you know you just dragged your bag along my car?" I got a vacant shrug and a gormless look. Geezer was pretty close to being teethless as well as gormless and vacant.

Some numpty reversed into my in a busy pub car park a month or so back - glassfibre, rear lights and all everywhere. Strange that despite being parked in from of a floodlight and right opposite the predominantly glass double front doors, no one saw a thing.

And did he leave a card, or come in and ask the staff to enquire who's it was? Did he ballorx!

On a recent visit to the gym, somebody asked why I park such a nice looking car in the corner of the car park, miles away, on it's own, when I could leave it outside the front doors.

The above comments are why.

Somebody nicking & torching = insurance paying
Somebody scratching it with ncd not protected = me paying.

I used to have a Griff 500, moved to Wimbledon, had to be parked in a bay, ers leaving Burger King cups on it, got driven into TWICE!! Neighbour once scratched their car along it, piece of shite mid 80's heap, didnt own up but could tell as the filler on their wing was engraved in my Grif.
Then some council contractor bastards let a 3 ton lorry roll into it, witness's, police statements the lot, contractors denied it, witness's didnt take the lorry's plate, couldnt claim, lost £1500 due to those arseholes. Could name and shame them ;-)

I hate people who mess with your pride and joy, just NOT on.

Got a nice gouge right along the side of mine at roughly shopping trolley height. Mark at Tower View did an excellent job of repairing it with touch-up paint and know you'd hardly know it was there unless you look closely.

We caught these two yobs keying someones merc-slk one time... needless to say they wont be doing it again in that area... stupid thing was, some old cutn walking across the way started shouting, thought it was a racially motivated attack on these dciks...

I expect the same respect, if someones doing it to my car, you rush the fecker down

The law is useless, gives you a crime number and you're told to contact your insurance, and thats the end of it....

In my old Chimp I had two problems:-
Once parked outside my house , rushed in to grab something, noticed a white van drive past, went out and found a cigarette burning a hole in the seat! Tossers.
Another time (in same car) was driving into Reading with roof down minding my own business (n a TVR!)and some lads decided to gob at the car (or me).
I think that TVRs used to be get less of the tossers abusing them but that the modern TVRs and the chavs theat now drive them has encouraged a different attitude.

I parked my Chimp outside a "nightclub" in East Grinstead once. Someone in the queue spat on it and was laughing with his mates.

The doorman allowed him to wipe the bonnet and windscreen wth his shirt prior to entering the club.

Not sure he would be doing that again.

A work colleague of mine parked in a supermarket car park recently. When his number plate was called out over the store PA system, he was escorted back to his car to see it had been keyed. Fortunately, a member of the public saw the lady in the next space, key his car before she got in to her own car, after putting junior in the back seat. She was tracked down by the police and did pay for the damage. Turned out she was the local primary school teacher, having a bad day after a row with her husband - so that's OK then !!

So with her teaching the next generation, doesn't look like the future will be any better.
